Deplorable and Despicable!

Hello Nagesh K,

I’m sorry but I find your email both appalling and insulting.

My site was down for roughly 36 hours on Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7. Two of your tech support people (on live chat) admitted that the issue was “a technical glitch”. That means the issue was caused at your end, not my doing. During that time I lost traffic, readership, credibility, job applicants, etc. Furthermore, on Monday, October 8, I received two additional emails from Jetpack saying they were unable to tack my stats for earlier on Monday, so clearly my site must have been down again.

If “the wp-content folder which contains the plugins and themes” were not proper at any point in time, it was because of the “glitch” with iPage.com, and NOT because of anything I did! I DID NOT REMOVE ANY FILES! My password is strongly encrypted. For you to even imply that this was in any way my error is deplorable and despicable.
As compensation for all of my losses, damages and personal stress, you are giving me a whopping $12.95 credit? Are you serious? Again, THIS IS DEPLORABLE, DESPICABLE, AND AN OUTRAGE! I am therefore requesting, as proper compensation from iPage.com, the following:
3 years FREE unlimited web hosting.
3 years FREE FULL SiteLock protection
A completely FREE e-commerce package with a full functioning shopping cart for 3 years.
PLUS $500 for your extremely poor customer relations tactics.

Also rest assured this email (and yours) will be posted on my blog.

Hello Gerianne,

We have added one month goodwill credits worth CA$12.95 to the account. This credit will be applied for future renewals or purchases.

The domain disabilitypride.net is pointing to the home directory since the last 14 days. I checked the backup files and I could see that the wp-content folder which contains the plugins and themes are proper in the last 14 days backups except for the backup of October 7, 2018. It does not has the proper files. We restored the files from the other backups we had and the website was restored.

We do not make any changes from our end without our customers authorization. Since the files were missing, the files must have been removed. I suggest that you reset the password for the account to a strong value.

Strong passwords must meet the following criteria:
2 or more Numbers
1 or more Special Characters
1 or more Uppercase characters
1 or more Lowercase characters

To learn how to reset the account password, please refer the link: https://www.ipage.com/help/article/account-how-to-change-your-account-password

We keep the last 14 days backup of the website files and the last 3 days backup of the databases.

Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any further questions, we are happy to help you.

Sincerely,
