Independent Living Helper – Various Shifts

I am looking to hire 2-3 extremely reliable people (hopefully long-term) to complete my current staffing needs. For details on employment criteria please see: Employment Information & Criteria.

 

Hourly Wages:

$17.50 per hour + 4% vacation pay added to each pay. For more details about pays  please see: Employment Information & Criteria.

 

Skills Needed for my ILH Position:

  • MUST BE EXTREMELY RELIABLE AND PUNCTUAL.
  • Able to do pivot transfers. (You’ll be shown how to on the job.)
  • MUST BE comfortable in assisting the employer with personal hygiene and cleanliness in all washroom related needs, including wiping front and back. (If you’re not comfortable with this need, please DON’T apply for this job.)
  • Be willing to assist employer with personal hygiene activities such as: showering, grooming, etc.
  • Be willing to work split shifts.
  • Be able to verbally understand and communicate well with the employer.
  • Be skilled with using text, Facebook Messenger, and be easy to contact by these methods.
  • Be open minded to doing unique tasks and situations.
  • Be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Be willing and able to accept direction.
  • Enjoy being active: walking, being out and about, meeting people, etc.
  • Have a positive, well mannered, easy-going, non-institutional attitude.
  • Dress presentable, (suitable for public) but casual.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as take on a team-like attitude.
  • Accompany employer to activities, meetings, church events/services/socials, shopping trips, run errands and any other outside activities as determined by the employer.
  • Do house keeping, including laundry, cleaning, meal preparation, etc.
  • Be willing to expect the unexpected.
  • A basic knowledge of mechanical tools, sewing skills, and  cooking skills are considered additional assets.
